Student
Exchange Program (Nepal Japan Cooperation for
Student Exchange Program)

The National College, Centre for Development
Studies (CeDS) has developed a new policy
of promoting a student exchange program with
universities having similar academic programs in
Asia and western countries. In the last academic
year of 2006/7, five students together with one
faculty member were sent to Mushashi Institute
of Technology, Yokohama, Japan for on-the-spot
study of development related projects.
Similarly, this year, six students are leaving
for Japan for the same purposes. This exchange
program could be possible through collaborative
effort with Mushashi Institute. The institute
which sent two of its batches jointly
participated with twelve National College
students for studying Urban Waste Management
System in Kathmandu. The partnership program
mainly focused on enhancing the knowledge on
environmental education and promotional
activities through student exchange program.
